Since I was little, I had a camera in my hand or in my face. My dad is a photographer and I grew up loving the craft (and who doesn’t like seeing pictures of themselves too?!). In high school I was captivated by the process of black and white film. The gamble and the skill required in capturing the perfect image. I had 2 young cousins at the time and loved capturing their sweetness in film, I still have many of these photos and hold them close to my heart. My wonder with film continued through college where I studied experimental photography, even toting around a giant large format 8X10 camera for a quarter, but once I was confronted with a major, I gave it all up. I was worried that my skill wouldn’t be seen in the “real world”
Fast forward to 2 years ago when I started picking up my camera again. I love capturing my own children and seeing their perfections and quirks frozen in an image. I am driven to family photography, capturing the moments in between is so important to me as a photographer as those are the moments we so quickly forget, yet they are the ones we crave. The first few days of a baby’s life, a yearly capture of your growth as a family, the joy of an expectant mother. Come with me and let me help you capture your family in a way you’ve never seen before. No awkward smiles or stress here, let’s capture what’s real.
